What Buyers Should Know Before Ordering Electrostatic Flocked Faux Moss
Faux moss is often chosen for decorative walls, display spaces, indoor landscaping, and themed commercial areas. From the front, the product looks soft and natural, but the production method and backing structure are just as important as the visible color and texture.
Our faux moss is produced by an electrostatic flocking process. The fibers are attached to the surface to create a moss-like effect, while the distribution is intentionally irregular rather than completely uniform. This random density helps the finished surface look more natural.
Some Loose Fibers Are Normal
One question buyers may have after opening the carton is why a small amount of fiber has come loose.
During production, a higher amount of flocking fiber is used to achieve the required surface density. For this reason, some shedding may occur during manufacturing, packing, or unpacking. According to the product instructions, this is a normal feature of the flocking process and does not affect normal use. Once the moss is installed and fixed, the shedding will stop.
These loose fibers can also be useful during installation.
When two pieces are joined, the installer can apply hot glue to the seam and sprinkle the loose fibers onto the glue before it dries. This helps cover the joint and creates a more natural transition between the pieces.
Why the Product Feels Flexible
The faux moss uses pearl cotton as its backing material. This gives the product an elastic and flexible feel.
Because of this structure, slight dimensional changes may occur during storage and transportation. This is described in the product instructions as a normal condition rather than a product defect. Buyers should allow the material to recover and be positioned properly before final installation.
Different Textures and Formats
The catalogue includes a wide range of moss textures, from flatter green surfaces to raised, uneven, and stone-like effects.
Most models are supplied in 1 m × 1 m sizes. The range also includes other formats, such as:
- 2 m × 1 m
- 100 × 50 cm
- 0.3 × 0.3 m
- Four-piece decorative sets in different shapes and sizes
This variety gives project buyers more options for full-wall coverage, small decorative areas, display design, and mixed-texture arrangements.
A Practical Check Before Ordering
Before selecting a model, buyers should confirm:
- Required texture
- Color tone
- Sheet or set format
- Total project area
- Packing requirements
- Whether different styles will be combined
For faux moss projects, appearance is important, but understanding the flocking process, backing material, fiber behavior, and available sizes can make ordering and installation more predictable.
